Spunky Dunkers Donuts

Spunky Dunkers makes their handcut donuts the old fashioned way, by hand! Which results in the outside of these donuts being golden light and crispy crunchy with a perfectly moist, bursting with flavor interior.  All I know is that after one bite of these donuts, I was sent hurling back to my childhood when all donuts were made this way.

I watched as the donut fryer was hand loaded and each donut was painstakingly made. And even though it looked like it was artisanal, what I was really witnessing was honest to goodness old school skill and know how.

Up at the counter I was told that this used to be a Mr. Donut back in the day, but that sometime in the 70’s they became Spunky Dunkers and have never looked back since.

This family run establishment won me over big, and I’ll definitely be going out of my way to get more of these flavor bursting beauties and some more of that smooth New England style coffee.
