I’ve been a loyal fan and patron of the Fish Keg since I was a kid back in the 70’s. My dad would bring the family here to eat those steaming hot fried shrimp. They always smelled so good that we would eat them right there in the Fish Keg’s parking lot while sitting in the family car, something that I still do with my own family now.
Nothing has changed since those days, and nowhere that I’ve tried since even comes close. They still have that magical perfect blend of hand breading and homemade cocktail sauce that just can’t be duplicated or surpassed. In my humble opinion; it’s still the best carry out seafood in the city. Which is why I drive down from Gurnee just to enjoy the Fish Keg at least once or twice a month, because it’s just that damn good, period!
