I found Bacaro while on one of my many flights back and forth form Chicago. Bacaro had advertised in United’s monthly magazine; you know the airplane rag that you reach for when your electronic devices has been shut off and your seat is now in its full and upright position? Yeah that one. Anyway, the Bacaro ad was so intriguing that I had put the restaurant on my *must* visit list, and therein lies the power of quality advertising.
Bacaro offers high end Italian fare, it is quite expensive and is without a doubt, what I would consider to be one of the top tier restaurants in the Providence area.
I started off with a fresh board of high quality cheeses and deli meats, all were impeccably delicious. My dining companion and I also polished off a grilled pizza appetizer that was outstanding before our main course arrived.
While he opted for the baked pasta shells with cheese, which he remarked was “very cheesy”, I went with the steak and potatoes. Both dishes were excellent.
Service gets good marks for being attentive as it should be at those prices, the ambiance was nice and cozy, yet still open and warm. Value wise, this place while delicious, was incredibly expensive, I'd be hard pressed to do it again unless it was on someone else's dime… I’m available any evening if your treating here.
